Photographed in 2014 and Commisioned by the University of Oregon Extension Program Finca to Table explored the role that organic farming played in Cuba's survival through the "Special Period" , a term for the period between 1991 and 2000 when the Soviet Union dissolved and abandoned its significant role in the Cuban economy, leaving Cuba with a sugar cane monoculture and few resources to feed its people. Further the project explores how small local farming operations continue to contribute the lives of modern Cuban families.
The project included extensive interviews, audio storytelling and a collection of photographic images.
